FOREVER

Africa has the fastest growing population on earth, a middle-class larger than the population of the United States and 40% of the arable farmland in the world.

Conversely, Africa has some of the highest rates of food insecurity and imports 80% of its food.

Our greenhouses grow a large variety of organic food crops and are up to 39 times more productive than traditional farming. We also utilise the surrounding land that we regenerate to grow tree fruits and organic industrial crops.

We are building a farming platform that will regenerate the farming industries, create thousands of jobs and could eradicate food insecurity across Africa, forever.

SUSTAINABLE

FOREVER

Our greenhouses require significant amounts of fresh water to grow our produce. To source this water sustainably, we utilise the most abundant water sources on the planet: Our oceans.

However our oceans contain salt, which is toxic to plant life. As a result we use desalination technology to separate the sea salt from the fresh water, allowing us to produce as much water as we need for our greenhouses and also for the local community.

The water that we use for the greenhouse is either absorbed by the plants or re-absorbed back into the atmosphere to continue the natural water cycle.

EMPLOYMENT

Job creation is a key principle of TEP Africa; we aim to create as many employment opportunities as possible.

For every greenhouse that we build 90% of the staff are from the local community. The remaining 10% are  consultants, who are leaders in their respective fields, and are are tasked with transferring their skill sets to the local people.  Our aim is for the staff of every greenhouse to be 100% drawn from the local community within 3 years of opening.

One of the main issues in African agri-farming is job security due mainly to the uncertainty of every harvest.

By introducing our solution, that will consistently deliver successful crops, the staff at TEP greenhouses benefit from having a long term, stable career from which they can support their family and community. As a result of this secure employment, staff at TEP can benefit from financial freedom, social mobility and independence. They can provide for their families and contribute to the progression of their community. They will be able to consistently pay tax so that governments have a larger fund with which to improve local services and community infrastructure.

CARBON NEGATIVE

In conjunction with Aston University in the United Kingdom, Seawater Greenhouse have been able to determine that a 1 hectare greenhouse will absorb between 8-10 tonnes of Co2 annually. If we achieve our development target, by 2028 we could be reducing 8000 tonnes of Carbon from the atmosphere every year.

By reducing the amount of Co2 in the atmosphere TEP will improve air quality, lighten the burden on national healthcare services and reduce the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. We can create an Eden for the communities to prosper.

Our planet provides us with everything we need to be able to survive, and thrive, sustainably.

In addition, with the technology available to us today, there is no excuse for the creation and application of solutions that negatively impact, individuals, communities or the environment.

There doesn't always need to be a downside.
